KATHMANDU, July 18: Hundreds of activists representing different organizations working for the rights of indigenous people, women and Dalits on Thursday morning have staged protest in front of the Anamnagar-based central office of Public Service Commission(PSC) demanding for the cancellation of its announcement of job vacancies for different bureaucratic positions to be filled at the local levels.
Protesters had reached the main gate of the central office of the PSC at 9 am. They also accused the main opposition Nepali Congress of being silent about PSC’s announcement of vacancies for different administrative positions to be filled at the local levels.

The exam is scheduled to begin from tomorrow for selecting ideal candidates from the pool of all the applicants.
They chanted slogans against the government as police tried to force them to go away from the PSC main gate.
They have been staging protests for the last few months against the PSC’s announcement saying that it is inconsistent with the inclusive and proportional spirit of the constitution.
The PSC had announced vacancies for different administrative positions to be filled at the local levels on May 29, 2019 following the government’s recommendation.
