HURPES seeks NC official decision on impeachment against Karki

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: A delegation from the Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) on Thursday met Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, urging the party to take an official decision on the impeachment motion against CIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki.

KATHMANDU, Oct 27: A delegation from the Human Rights and Peace Society (HURPES) on Thursday met Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba, urging the party to take an official decision on the impeachment motion against CIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki.


Stating that the organization was critical even of Karki's appointment, the delegation stressed that the party should not make a further a delay in giving its official decision on the motion.

In response, Deuba, also the former Prime Minister, urged the delegation to have confidence that the NC would always stand for justice, according to a press statement issued by the HURPES after the meeting.


The delegation comprised society funding president Krishna Pahadi, President Gangadhar Adhikari, advisor Homkant Chaulagain, founding member Krishna Kandel, general secretary Uttam Pudasaini and treasurer Renuka Poudel.


On the occasion, the NC President was informed about the ongoing HURPES campaign against the drugs abuse. RSS
