I can't sit back and watch the negligence of construction companies : Minister Shrestha

KATHMANDU, March 12: Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that he will not sit idly by and ignore the work done by the construction industry to the detriment of the nation.

KATHMANDU, March 12: Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that he will not sit idly by and ignore the work done by the construction industry to the detriment of the nation.


Addressing the opening ceremony of the 24th Annual General Meeting of the Federation of Contractors Association Nepal held in Kathmandu on Sunday, Minister Shrestha expressed his displeasure that the work undertaken by the construction professionals is usually delayed.

He said that necessary action will be taken if there is negligence in the work. Minister Shrestha also warned that contracts with companies that do not complete construction on time may be canceled. He also said that he would coordinate with any ministry to solve the problems faced by builders and said that the builders should also resolve to complete the work undertaken in accordance with the contract on time.


He said that it is the responsibility of the government to end corruption and maintain good governance, increase capital expenditure and minimize trade deficit.
