KATHMANDU, Oct 31: Oman has defeated Singapore by 22 runs in today's match held under ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier.


Oman posted a target of 175 runs before Singapore in today's match held at Kirtipur-based TU International Cricket Ground.


In response, Singapore was limited to 152 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs.  Surendran Chandramohan made the highest 41 runs in 31 balls for Singapore while Manpreet Singh 31, Aritra Dutta 13 and Anish Paraam 12 runs. Other players of Singapore could not make a double digit score.

Towards bawling, Bilal Khan and Ahmad Fayyaz Butt took two wickets each for Oman while Shakeel Ahmad, Zeeshan Maqsood and Aaqib Ilyas Sulheri one wicket each.


Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Oman collected 174 runs by losing six wickets in 20 overs. Aaqib Ilyas Sulheri made 63 runs in 35 balls, Prathik Athavale 42 runs, Zeeshan Maqsood 26 runs and Khashyapkumar Prajapati 12 runs.


Similarly, Janak Prakash, Anish Paraam and Ramesh Kalimuthu took two wickets each for Singapore.


With this, Oman registered a second consecutive win in the championship. Oman had defeated Malaysia by 32 runs in the match held on Monday. Nepal had defeated Singapore by eight wickets in the match held on Monday.
