KATHMANDU, April 12: Nepal secured a 218 runs victory against Singapore in its first match at the ICC Asia U-19 World Cup Qualifier at Selangor Turf Club, Kuala Lumpur on Friday.
Nepal was invited to bat first after losing the toss. In its 50 overs, Nepal scored 282 runs losing all of its wickets in 46 overs. Skipper Rohit Kumar Paudel top-scored with 95 runs including seven fours and one six. Similarly, Rashid Khan made 48 runs including four fours and two sixes off 47 deliveries while Pawan Sarraf contributed 47 runs including four fours and two sixes off 53 balls.
Nepal defeats Namibia by three runs
In its second inning, Nepal restricted Singapore to 65 runs. Pawan Sarraf took three wickets while Surya Tamang and Kaushal Malla took two wickets each.
Nepal will play against the United Arab Emirates on Saturday; Malaysia on Monday; Oman on Tuesday and Kuwait on Thursday.
