KATHMKANDU, April 27: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced to release the withheld salaries of Nepali national cricket players on Thursday. ICC's five-day long board and committee meetings held in Dubai took the decision. The decision paved way for the players to receive their salaries withheld since 15 months.

“The ICC Board also agreed to a recommendation from the Development Committee to pay the outstanding salaries to national contracted players whilst the Cricket Association of Nepal is suspended and undergoing constitutional reform and reinstatement process,” ICC said in press statement released after the meeting. The release did not made any remarks on the scarped membership of Nepal.
Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) categorizes its contracted players in four groups- A, B, C and D.
According to the categorization, Group A players are paid Rs 35,000 per month, group B players are paid Rs 25,000 per month, group C players are paid Rs 15,000 and group D players are paid Rs 5000 per month.
ICC is yet to communicate the process through which it will release the salaries, Bhawana Ghimire, CAN's former CEO said. “We haven't received formal notice about the medium through which players will receive their salary,” she said.
