In Pictures: Demonstration held in support of Rabi Lamichhane

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: A mass demonstration was held from Maitighar Mandala to Baneshwar in support of the outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who was dismissed after the Supreme Court declared him guilty in the citizenship and passport case on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Jan 28: A mass demonstration was held from Maitighar Mandala to Baneshwar in support of the outgoing Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who was dismissed after the Supreme Court declared him guilty in the citizenship and passport case on Friday.


On Saturday, Pukar Bam, Tara Baral, Shom Sharma and other supporters staged demonstrations in support of Lamichhane, who is also President of Rastriya Swatantra Party, from Maitighar to Baneshwar. They chanted slogans in favor of Lamichhane.

Although Lamichhane renounced his US citizenship he did not get Nepali citizenship again. After the court ruled that Lamichhane did not have Nepali citizenship, he lost his position as Deputy Prime Minister, Home Minister and Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party. He was elected from Chitwan Constituency 2 in the parliamentary election held on November 20, 2022.
