KATHMANDU, August 23: The impact of Nepal bandha (i.e. general shutdown) enforced by Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal and other fringe leftist parties has not been seen in Kathmandu Valley and other parts of the country.

Despite fewer vehicles plying on the road as compared to other days, there has not been any major impact of the shutdown.  The united front of four communist parties including the Chand-led CPN called for a general shutdown across the country to exert pressure on the government to meet their demands.
