KATHMANDU, July 12: A group of independent youths have staged a peaceful demonstration in front of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) office against what they called brutality of municipal police and unlawful conduct to street vendors.
The demonstrators played a ‘Gariba Ko Chameli’ song demanding accountability as well as respectful arrangements and better treatment for street/ cycle/ cart vendors and small businesses.

They also held banners and pamphlets with various slogans such as ‘A city for rich or a city for all?’, ‘I voted for Sunita and Balen. Don’t make me regret it’ and ‘Liveable Kathmandu for all’.
