Independent candidate Hark Sampang wins mayorship of Dharan Sub-metropolis

DHARAN, May 22: Independent candidate Harka Raj Rai (Sampang) has secured his victory in the mayoral race of Dharan Sub-metropolis. There are only 3,284 votes left to count while Sampang is leading by 4,281 votes against his closest rival from the five-party alliance Kishor Rai. Even if Kishor receives all the remaining votes, Sampang will still win the elections.

DHARAN, May 22: Independent candidate Harka Raj Rai (Sampang) has secured his victory in the mayoral race of Dharan Sub-metropolis. There are only 3,284 votes left to count while Sampang is leading by 4,281 votes against his closest rival from the five-party alliance Kishor Rai. Even if Kishor receives all the remaining votes, Sampang will still win the elections. 


As of 1PM, Sampang has received 19,597 votes while Kishor has received 15,316 votes. Similarly, CPN-UML candidate Manju Bhandari has received 12,348 votes.

Likewise, in the contest for the post of deputy-mayor, candidate from the ruling coalition Aindra Bikram Begha is leading the polls with 19,283 votes while his closest rival Padam Ishwo of the CPN-UML has received 16,916 votes so far.
