KATHMANDU, Sept 21: The government of India has decided to provide Rs 30.29 million for the construction of a campus building of Shree Narad Adarsh Education Campus in Udaypur.

Udayapur's Local Development Officer Pitamber Adhikari, Second Secretary at the Embassy of India Gyanveer Singh  and  Dhurba Raj Rai, principal of Narad Adarsh Education Campus on Tuesday signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for construction of the campus  building under India's Small Development Programme Scheme as part of India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Programme.

According to the MoU, the District Development Committee would prepare a work schedule, invite tenders for the construction of the project in 15 months and get the project completed in time.

Narad Adarsh Education Campus started as a secondary school in 1971 and was upgraded to campus in 2003. Currently, the campus offers three-year Bachelor Degree course in education management and humanities and also 10+2 course to a total number of 770 students.

The new building would provide the much-needed classrooms and a conducive environment for learning.

These development projects, mainly in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure development, have been undertaken in response to local needs and in partnership with the Government of Nepal to support socio-economic development of Nepal, reads a press release issued by the Embassy of India.
