KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Chief of Indian Army Manoj Pande is arriving in Nepal today. He is arriving in Kathmandu with a five-member team for a four-day visit at the official invitation of the Nepal Army Chief Prabhu Ram Sharma.
In the course of his five-day visit to Nepal, General Pande will pay homage at the Brave Soldier Memorial at Sainik Manch Tudikhel and inspect the parade of honors at the Nepal Army pavillion, according to the Nepal Army Military Public Relations and Information Directorate.

General Pande is scheduled to sit for bilateral talks with Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Prabhu Ram Sharma, attend a program to hand over assistance on behalf of the Indian Army to the Nepal Army, hold interactions with the students of Army Command and Staff College and to visit the Mid-Western Command Headquarters.
According to the long-held tradition between the Nepali Army and the Indian Army, which is the main part of the visit, President Bidya Devi Bhandari will confer the Honorary Maharathi status of the Nepali Army on Indian Army Chief General Pande during a special ceremony. General Pande is scheduled to have a formal meeting with Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during his visit, according to the Public Relations Directorate of Nepal Army.
