LAHAN, Jan 23: Police have arrested an Indian national with illegal gold while being taken to India.
SP Shekhar Koirala at District Police Office, Siraha said that Bikash Kumar Sha of Madhubani, India was arrested with 249 grams illegal gold.
Koirala added that acting on a tip-off, police arrested him from the bordering Madar village.
“A police team followed Sha after the tip-off and made the arrest,” said Koirala, “The gold was being smuggled to Jayanagar, India through the district.”
He has been handed over to District Customs Office for further action, according to SP Koirala.
