Inmates extend helping hand in cricket stadium construction

CHITWAN, Feb 8: Inmates and detainees at the District Prison, Chitwan have provided monetary assistance for the under-construction Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium project in Chitwan.

CHITWAN, Feb 8: Inmates and detainees at the District Prison, Chitwan have provided monetary assistance for the under-construction Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium project in Chitwan.


They have assisted Rs 111,111 for the project and the amount was provided through the District Administration Office, Chitwan.

According to Prison Office chief Kamal Prasad Kafle, the amount was managed through the daily ration amount meant for inmates/detainees except women, ill and dependents.


There are 54 women, four dependent and 673 male. The project is being implemented on the initiation of Dhurmus Suntali Foundation.


Mahayagya, a religious event, is going on since February 4 to collect funds for the project and so far, around Rs 70 million has been raised.


The project cost is Rs around 2.5 billion.
