KATHMANDU, Dec 1: An international conference will be held in Nepal this month to formulate international guidelines for sustainable waste management in Nepal's mountainous and high mountainous regions.
According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), the program will be attended by various scientists, engineers, environmentalists, doctors and others who have worked in the Himalayan region. Chief Executive Officer of NTB, Dr Dhananjay Regmi and Fredric Cauffaman, project director at The Never Rest Project signed an agreement to determine the modality for the job.

“The conference will study and analyze the statistics of mountain cleaning done by the Nepal Army in the mountains region of Nepal and also study the modalities of sustainable waste management in mountainous areas and high mountain areas and prepare a waste management and cleaning criteria,” said Regmi.
He added that the future generations can be handed over clean mountains after sustainable management of the mountains.
