Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolis Kedar Neupane stressed for the need of separating the degradable and non-degradable waste materials before disposal. He also said that Nepal can use bio-degradable wastage to make compost manure and check the import of chemical manure from India.

According to Coordinator of the conference Ganesh Shah,  the waste management problem has turned out to be a great challenge along with the rapid urbanization. "Federalism has brought confusions among the governing bodies over their responsibilities,"  added coordinator Ganesh.
