It is necessary to decentralize services related to heart diseases: State Minister Karki

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Minister of State for Health and Population, Dr Toshima Karki has said that there is a need to decentralize the services related to heart diseases provided by Gangalal Hospital.

KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Minister of State for Health and Population, Dr Toshima Karki has said that there is a need to decentralize the services related to heart diseases provided by Gangalal Hospital.


She said this while addressing the 27th anniversary function of Shaheed Gangalal National Heart Center on Sunday. She said that it is very necessary to decentralize hospital services to the provincial level.

She also said that the government will take the initiative to establish Gangalal Hospital institutions as service units in provincial hospitals. She said that in the case of children under 15 years of age and senior citizens, free surgery services and health insurance programs should be expanded and a campaign should be launched to make heart disease treatment surgery free so that every citizen can afford it.


Minister of State for Health Karki also said that the government will always be with the people in ensuring quality health services to them.
