Judge Neupane’s bench to hear fake Bhutanese refugee case

KATHMANDU,  May 26: The case of the fake Bhutanese refugee scam is in the bench of Judge Prem Prasad Neupane. Five cases related to the fake refugee scam filed in the Kathmandu District Court have been brought to the bench of Judge Neupane in the bench no 25.

KATHMANDU,  May 26: The case of the fake Bhutanese refugee scam is in the bench of Judge Prem Prasad Neupane. Five cases related to the fake refugee scam filed in the Kathmandu District Court have been brought to the bench of Judge Neupane in the bench no 25.


In the fake Bhutanese refugees scam, a case was registered against 30 people in Kathmandu district court on charges of fraud, forgery, crime against the state and organized crime. Among them, 16 have been arrested in the said case and 14 are absconding.

According to the public prosecutor's office, the deposition will take about two weeks. After the statement of all the defendants, the closed debate will begin. After the detention hearing, the accused will be detained or released on bail.


Former Deputy Prime Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, former Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand, suspended Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, then Home Minister's security adviser Indrajit Rai, Nepali Congress leader Keshav Dulal, Sanu Bhandari, Sandesh Sharma and others have been arrested in connection with the scam.
