KATHMANDU, Nov 20: The hearing on the writ petitions filed against the TikTok ban has been scheduled at a single bench of Justice Dr Kumar Chudal.


The government had banned Tiktok on November 13, saying that it was disrupting social harmony in the country.

Senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi and advocates Swagat Nepal, Jagannath Dulal and others have filed petitions at the apex court against the ban.


After the government banned the social networking site Tiktok, several writ petitions were filed in the Supreme Court on the first day of court opening after the Tihar holidays i.e. on 17th November. According to the court, the first hearing on the petitions has been scheduled for 20th November (today).


Since Saturday and Sunday are public holidays on the occasion of Chhath Puja, the hearing was scheduled for Monday (today).
