Kaligandaki exports flower worth Rs 2 million

SYANGJA, Nov 13: Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Syangja district has exported flowers worth Rs 2 million in this festive season.


The flowers produced by the locals in the rural municipality have been exported to the cities of Pokhara, Butwal and Kathmandu.

Chief of Agriculture Section of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality Anup Paudel said that the flowers worth Rs 2 million, produced by 16 farmers and groups from seven wards of the rural municipality, have been exported so far. The rural municipality has provided 50 per cent grants to the flower producers in Kaligandaki.


Paudel said that flowers worth a total of Rs 2.5 million are expected to export until this Tihar festival.


For the production of flowers, the rural municipality had provided Rs 9,000 under grants per ropani and the farmers were also provided with consultations and technical assistance for free.
