Karnali Province announces public holiday on 'Magh 1'

SURKHET, Jan 11: The 33rd meeting of the Karnali province Council of Ministers has decided to give a public holiday on Magh 1 (January 15). 


Province government minister for law and internal affairs, Naresh Bhandari shared at a news conference at his ministry today that the provincial cabinet has decided to give a public holiday on Magh 1, which is the Maghe Sankranti festival.

Informing the media about the decisions of the provincial government, he said the provincial government has decided to form a three-member Public Holiday Determination Suggestion Committee under his coordination. 


He added that the meeting also decided to give approval, in principle, to the Bill Providing for Guaranteeing Good Governance, the Bill Formulated to Form Province Youth Council, the Bill Designed to Control Domestic Violence and the Bill on Protection of Consumer Welfare. 


Likewise, the provincial government approved the Karnali Province Volunteers Mobilisation Work Procedures. It also decided to send the proposal on changing the name of the Kanaka Sundari rural municipality to the political committee of the Province Council of Ministers. 


Province government minister Bhandari said the Karnali Province has been made paperless from today itself.
