KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The Nepali Army has appointed Bikash Pokharel as the Project Head for the Kathmandu-Terai/Madhesh Expressway (Fast Track).
On Monday, the army's combat base appointed Brigadier General Bikash Pokharel in place of Kamal Bikram Shah. Pokharel has also previously worked as the head of the Fast Track project.
Legal hurdles delaying Kathmandu-Terai Fast Track construction:...
A few days ago, a question was raised in the Parliamentary Committee of the Federal Parliament about the delay in construction. After that Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma changed the head of the Fast Track project.
Only from May 2021, the army took charge of the work and started the construction. The physical progress of the expressway, which is about 70 km long, is only 28 percent so far. In other words, the army is under pressure to complete 72 percent of the work in the next three years.
