Khadka felicitated

KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepali national cricket team captain Paras Khadka has been felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 100,000 at Kathmandu Youth Conclave (KYC) in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The 31-year-old skipper was conferred the title of Youth Icon 2019.

KATHMANDU, March 20: Nepali national cricket team captain Paras Khadka has been felicitated with a cash prize of Rs 100,000 at Kathmandu Youth Conclave (KYC) in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The 31-year-old skipper was conferred the title of Youth Icon 2019.


Khadka was selected for the accolade for his contribution in Nepali sports and for inspiring the youth through sports. Speaking on the occasion, Khadka expressed said that sports could be a useful tool to unite the nation. “We, as a team, could succeed, because we were honest towards our game and nation.It is not just Paras Khadka but there is an entire team, coaches and people who supported us in every ups and downs. I only represent them. Dedication, perseverance, team-work, respect to others, and honesty are keys to my success.”

Chief guest of the program, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker and youth leader Yogesh Bhattarai, expressed that the future of Nepal is at the hands of the young talents. “This program rightly confers its message that youths are responsibile to build the nation.”


Speakers on the occasion included Miss Nepal 2018 Shrinkhala Khatiwada on prosperity through tourism, IT Consultant to Prime Minister of Nepal Asgar Ali on the future of e-commerce and IT, YouTuber Sisan Baniya on passion to profession, Director of Jyoti Group of Companies and Chairman of Syakar Trading Company Saurabh Jyoti on developing business environment in Nepal, and Sandip Chhetri on standing out among the masses.
