KATHMANDU, Nov 2
Kishore Kumar Pradhan, the current vice president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), has filed his candidacy for the post of senior vice president of the leading umbrella organization of businesses in Nepal.
The Pradhan-led panel has jumped into the election fray of the FNCCI. The FNCCI is convening its 54th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election from November 26 to November 28.

The AGM and election will elect the new executive committee for a term of two years.
As the senior vice president takes over as the next president of the FNCCI, the voting is considered also to be an election for the upcoming leadership of the federation. Shekhar Golchha, the current senior vice president, will replace the current President Bhawani Rana from the upcoming general meeting of the FNCCI.
Pradhan told Republica that he formally filed his candidacy today.
Pradhan’s challenger is another vice president of FNCCI, Chandra Raj Dhakal, who has already filed his candidacy for the post of senior vice-president.
Both Pradhan and Dhakal are contesting the election by announcing their own panels for the executive committee.
In his panel, Pradhan has included Anjan Shrestha as a candidate for vice president (commodity), Dinesh Shrestha for vice president (district/municipality) and Saurabh Jyoti for vice president (associate).
Gun Nidhi Tiwari (vice president-district/municipality), Umesh Lal Shrestha (vice president- commodity) and Ram Chandra Sanghai (vice president-associate) are the candidates vying in the upcoming election from the Dhakal-led panel.
