KMC demolishes unauthorized structure of Bardali Restaurant

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has demolished the unauthorized structure of Bardali Restaurant near Bijulibazar Bridge. On Thursday morning, the metropolitan police arrived with bulldozers and demolished the wall constructed by Bardali Restaurant.

KATHMANDU, Dec 21: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has demolished the unauthorized structure of Bardali Restaurant near Bijulibazar Bridge. On Thursday morning, the metropolitan police arrived with bulldozers and demolished the wall constructed by Bardali Restaurant.


Due to the narrow road at this location, traffic jams were frequent. The KMC had previously demolished the structure to the north of Bardali Restaurant.

In the presence of the people's representatives from Ward Number 10 of KMC, representatives from survey office, and local residents, the land that had been encroached upon by the unauthorized structures was reclaimed.


The KMC, Ward Number 10, Sheet Number 102-1146-06, Lot Numbers 412, 289, 290, 264, and 4 were allocated by the metropolis as government land. Subsequently, the demolition of structures built on government land commenced.


Following Bardali Restaurant's refusal to comply with the request to demolish the structure, the KMC utilized a bulldozer. Ramkumar KC, Chairman of Ward No. 10, stated that the metropolitan team demolished Bardali Restaurant’s unauthorized structure after they refused to remove it.
