KATHMANDU, April 16: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has directed all academic institutions within the metropolitan area to suspend physical classes for a week if any teacher or student tests positive for COVID-19.

KATHMANDU, April 16: Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has directed all academic institutions within the metropolitan area to suspend physical classes for a week if any teacher or student in their institution tests positive for COVID-19.


KMC’s Education Officer Ram Prasad Subedi has issued a circular to all academic institutions to suspend physical classes for a week if they have any confirmed cases of COVID-19. A decision to this effect was made by a meeting held on Thursday.

Schools suspending physical classes have been asked to continue teaching-learning activities through alternative methods. The KMC has also requested all schools concerned to run schools as per the health protocols issued by the Ministry of Health and Population and the suggestions given by guardians.
