CCMC recommends to govt to suspend physical classes in schools to reduce spread of new COVID-19 variants

KATHMANDU, April 17: The COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has recommended to the government to suspend physical classes of all academic institutions in city areas to reduce the risk of further spread of new variant of COVID-19.

KATHMANDU, April 17: The COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has recommended to the government to suspend physical classes of all academic institutions in city areas to reduce the risk of further spread of new variant of COVID-19.

A meeting of the CCMC has decided to ask schools and colleges to teach students through alternative methods at least till mid-May in major cities where new COVID-19 variants have been detected, according to a cabinet minister, who attended the meeting. A cabinet meeting scheduled to be held later will take a decision to this effect.


The CCMC meeting also dwelled on introducing new health protocols in view of the fresh wave of COVID-19 seen in the country. Among other things, the meeting has decided to strictly enforce public health protocols in businesses that operate at night.
