Maharjan said that the KMC emphasis is on diagnostic treatment methods rather than curative health services. He said that yoga should be developed not as a racial, religious and communal property, but as a common property indispensable for healthy human life.

Sajina Maharjan, the Acting Head of the Health Department, said that the program aims at preventing non-communicable diseases by activating the physical inactivity of city dwellers. She said that the Aarogya Jeevan program was conducted under KMC vision to promote Ayurvedic and alternative treatment methods.
