KATHMANDU, Jan 21: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has warned of actions to some private schools for running physical classes against the government’s order to stop conducting classes in persons in view of the rising cases of COVID-19.
Some schools in the city are found running physical classes even as the the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology issued the order to run classes in all schools through alternative medium from January 11.

It is said that some schools in ward no 15 and 18 in the KMC are running physical classes even as the country is now passing through the third phase of COVID-19.
Chief of Education Department of KMC Ram Prasad Subedi said the schools would face music if they don’t immediately stop physical classes.
“It is a punishable act to run classes on the pretext of charging fees from students at a time when support from all sides is needed to control the pandemic,” Subedi added. “Such schools should immediately stop opening schools. Otherwise they will face stern actions.”
