Koica-aided health project completed

KATHMANDU, May 2: 'Prevention of disease and improvement of working environment in Nepal Korea Friendship Hospital' program, which was supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica) has been completed.

KATHMANDU, May 2: 'Prevention of disease and improvement of working environment in Nepal Korea Friendship Hospital' program, which was supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (Koica) has been completed.


According to Koica, the total budget of the project was USD$ 50,000. Koica has been collaborating with Nepal Korea Friendship Hospital for over 19 years now.

The project ceremony was held on Tuesday at Nepal Korea Friendship Hospital, Madhyapur Thimi, Bhaktapur, a statement issued by the Koica said. 


The project was completed by installing different equipment including laparoscopic system for emergency operation, electronic medical recording, and picture achieving and communication system. 


Currently, three advisors and 23 Koica volunteers are actively working in various government sectors in accordance with an agreement between the governments of Nepal and Korea.


Each volunteer serves in Nepal for two years in various fields such as education, health and agriculture.
