LALITPUR, Sept 3: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Chiranjibi Nepal, CEO of Nabil Bank Sashin Joshi and President of Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA) Upendra Paudyal jointly launched FINLICO—a graphic novel on financial literacy written by Prakash Koirala at Shree Bajra Barahi Higher Secondary School, Lalitpur on Friday.
Inaugurating the program, governor Nepal, who was also the chief guest, lauded the book by explaining how it advises its readers to remain in discipline while spending, saving, and investing their money.

Speaking at the book launch, CEO of Nabil Bank, Sashin Joshi suggested, “If we could create an animated video based upon this financial literacy comic book and presented, it could be more effective.”
FINLICO has simple Nepali language with graphics, targeting readers of all age-group to disseminate ideas regarding financial management. It establishes the concept that “literally illiterate people can be made financially literate”.
Prakash Koirala, the author, has been working as an activist on financial literacy promotional campaign since 2012.
He is also the recipient of “Global Award Winner 2015” in Youth Financial Education Awareness Award in House of Lord, the UK Parliament and “National Youth Talent Award 2016” from the Government of Nepal.
