‘Lamphoo’ is a love story of Kusum Municipality-based Ramesh (Kabir Khadka) and Aarati (Marishka Pokharel). The story revolves around unemployment, a major concern of Nepali society and a common problem faced by Nepali youths.
Khadka and Pokharel are the lead actors in the film, in which Salon Basnet (Kyanam) appears as an antagonist character in the second half. Child artist Kusagra Bhattarai (Kanchha) has played the role of Ramesh’s younger brother.

Ramesh is an unemployed guy who belongs to a typical Brahmin family and participates in different traditional dances of Nepal such as ‘Nag Naanch’ and ‘Bagh Naanch.’ He falls in love with Aarati who had been observing his dance all along.
However, the couple faces a lot of difficulties and eventually split after which Ramesh goes to Kathmandu seeking employment. There, he befriends Kyanam, who is actually a money-hungry fraud. When Ramesh comes to know about the true character of evil Kyanam, their friendship ends. The ending of the film sees the audience holding tight to their seats as Ramesh pursues a reconnection with both his lady love and his friend wherein fits the suspense of the film.
The story takes the audience on a rollercoaster as the characters get caught up in misunderstandings, drawing the viewers further toward the unending hindrances between Ramesh and Aarati. There are lots of twists and turns in this film full of typical Nepali flavor. With comedy, romance, tragedy, action, suspense all in one movie, it is a sure shot entertainment package for the audience.
