Last rites of 14 people killed in Syangja jeep accident to be performed today

SYANGJA, May 14: The post-mortem of 14 people killed in a jeep accident on Friday is being conducted at Gahau Primary Hospital Waling.

SYANGJA, May 14: The post-mortem of 14 people killed in a jeep accident on Friday is being conducted at Gahau Primary Hospital Waling.


The last rites of the deceased will be performed at Ramdighat today itself. The accident took place when the jeep (Ga 2 Cha 3026) fell 500 meter off the road at the inner road section in Arkhalbas in Waling Municipality-14.

The postmortem was stopped after the family and relatives of the deceased demanded compensation from the jeep owners and the local administration. Chief Administrative Officer of Waling Municipality Rajan Bhattarai said that the Waling Municipality will provide Rs 25,000 each to the families of the deceased.


The family will be given Rs 25,000 from the disaster fund of the municipality. The municipality will also bear the cost of managing the bodies of the deceased.
