Lawmaker Ek Nath Dhakal completes Master's in Peace Studies from US

KATHMANDU, May 27: Member of the House of Representatives Ek Nath Dhakal has been awarded a postgraduate degree from the "HJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership" in the USA. At the 48th convocation ceremony held in New York, the president of the college, Dr Thomas Gerald Walsh, presented Dhakal with a “Master of Arts in Peace Studies” certificate.

KATHMANDU, May 27: Member of the House of Representatives Ek Nath Dhakal has been awarded a postgraduate degree from the "HJ International Graduate School for Peace and Public Leadership" in the USA. At the 48th convocation ceremony held in New York, the president of the college, Dr Thomas Gerald Walsh, presented Dhakal with a “Master of Arts in Peace Studies” certificate.


Dhakal joined the college in 2021 and completed his studies through distance learning. He was awarded a full scholarship for his studies. Dhakal attended the graduation ceremony in person, accompanied by his wife, Blessie Gadon Dhakal.

At the same ceremony, former US Special Envoy Joseph R Detrani was presented with an honorary doctoral degree. Ambassador Detrani served as the US Special Envoy for the Six-Party Talks with North Korea and was a member of the Senior Intelligence Service at the Central Intelligence Agency for over two decades.
