KATHMANDU, June 22: Lawmakers, speaking in the special time of the House of Representatives today, drew the government's attention towards the control of price hike and black marketing.
Prakash Rasaili, Prem Suwal, Durga Poudel and Dev Prasad Timilsina expressed their concern over increasing market price, insisting on the government interventions to curb it.
They took the time to apprise the government about impact on multiple areas due to continuous increase in the prices of petroleum products, objecting to the government 'apathy' towards voices of students to this regard.
Lawmaker Shanta Chaudhary said despite the formal abolishment of Kamlari system (a kind of bonded labor), around 100 women are still forced to work as Kamlaris in western Nepal.
She demanded an investigation into the death of 11 year-old girl Asmita Tharu. "Though the incident has been presented as a suicide, she said nail injuries on her both hands and black and blue marks on multiple parts of the body has made the case suspicious," she said, urging the Home Minister to bring facts surrounding it.
