Leader Nepal urges NWPP to cease authoritarian attitude

BHAKTAPUR, June 22: Nepal Communist Party (NCP)'s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has called upon the Nepal Workers and Peasants' Party (NWPP) to give up the culture of 'authoritarianism'.


While inaugurating a weeklong health-related orientation and health camp organised on the occasion of the 16th year of Valley Health and Research Centre at Srijananagar of Bhaktarpur today, the major ruling party leader urged the NWPP leader Narayan Man Bijukchhe not to cultivate the culture of 'totalitarianism' within the party. "Arrogance and suppressive and slavery attitude would ultimately end with self- displacement," the former prime minister observed. He further said the government was pursuing new innovations through the maximum utilization of science and technology.

The use of technology would have its role to disseminate information and spread public awareness in every sector either it may be agriculture, environment, education, production or marketing, he added.


As he said, increasing air pollution and adulterated water, food, oil and vegetable have posed a threat to human health and people face a high risk of being caught by diseases. He urged citizens to be aware of this fact and take preventive measures. On the occasion, Surya Binayak municipality mayor Basudev Thapa was honoured in recognition of his contribution to the health sector.


State 3 State Assembly member Dr Rajendra Man Shrestha said healthy body was necessary to live a meaningful life, urging the government to increase investment in the health sector. District Coordination Committee, Bhaktapur chief Nawaraj Gelal and senior oncologist Dr Madan Kumar Piya highlighted the need of 'prevention is better than cure'.


During the weeklong health camp, a specialist team avails here for checkup of uterus and provides related consultations. According to organization chair, Ranju Napit, lab test and distribution of medicines are parts of the free health camp.
