Lightning kills teenage girl in Jajarkot

JAJARKOT, May 26: A teenage girl died after being struck by lightning at Junichande Rural Municipality-5.

JAJARKOT, May 26: A teenage girl died after being struck by lightning at Junichande Rural Municipality-5.


The deceased has been identified as 13-year-old Dila Pariyar, according to police.  Pariyar was returning home from Kalekhola while she was struck by lightning.   She along with other two friends had gone to eat black berry in the nearby stream.

Hira Pariyar, 14, and Malika Pariyar, who were accompanying Dila, also sustained injures.


A lot of school children flock to jungle to eat berry, gooseberry, and other wild edible fruits in spite of windstorm and rainfall, Hari Bahadur Shahi, a local, told Republica Online.
