Liwang under CCTV surveillance

ROLPA, Aug 7: Rolpa municipality and the district’s chamber of commerce have jointly installed night vision equipped Close Circuit Cameras (CCTVs) in 10 places of district headquarter, Liwang.  The District Police Office (DPO) will operate and monitor the cameras to deter crime in the district headquarter. 


The cameras have been installed at Tundikhel, Loktantrik Chowk, market area, Pipal junction, Shivalaya temple, the District Administration Office and in front of Janata Bank.

Of the 10 cameras, four are Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ), meaning that they will provide 360 degree viewing angle. The remaining six are fixed frame.


The cameras were procured for Rs. 1.1 million and assemblers were hired. “The cameras have been installed to minimize crime rates and manage the market areas”, the municipality’s mayor Purna KC said.
