The two temples where people are barred include the Bishwanath Temple and Harishankar Temple. These temples have been tagged with a 'no entry' sign, and the Metropolitan Police will be stationed there from 7 AM to 8 PM. Additionally, mobile police will be deployed until 11 PM to ensure the implementation of the ban effectively.

The prohibition comes after LMC Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan ordered action in response to community complaints. The aim is to maintain the sanctity of the temple premises and safeguard against immoral activities.

Police chief Hachhethu further said this action is only the beginning and gradually similar prohibitions may be imposed on other temples, including the Krishna Temple, if necessary.

To enhance surveillance and security, CCTV cameras have been installed in the Durbar Square area to closely monitor the situation and address any untoward incidents.
