KATHMANDU, March 25: Amid sudden spike in the cases of COVID-19, local administration in Kathmandu Valley as well as other parts of the country have announced various measures to check possible spread of this pandemic.
Local administrations in Kathmandu Valley have warned of the action of people found not wearing masks in public. They have also directed all entrepreneurs running night businesses to stop their activities and avoid public gatherings such as religious fairs or business fairs until further notice.
Keeping in view of the possible infection of the COVID-19, all three local administration offices have urged people to celebrate the upcoming Holi festival within their own home. They have also decided to keep all quarantine facilities and isolation centers in operational state and take necessary measures to effectively implement the health safety protocols.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has urged all to wear masks while travelling in public vehicles. In addition to using sanitizers and maintaining social/physical distancing, the DAO, Kathmandu has urged all to follow all necessary health protocols in order to avoid transmission of COVID-19 cases.
The District Administration Office in Lalitpur has urged people to avoid gatherings in public places as the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic has increased lately. It has also decided to expedite case investigation and contact tracing as deemed necessary to contain further spread of COVID-19.
District Administration Office, Bhaktapur, has asked all not to organize any kind of festivities including religious fairs, cultural functions and other gatherings until further notice. It has also decided to stop the operations of businesses that are normally open in the night such as restaurants, hotels and dance bars.
Meanwhile, the government started setting up health desks at various points of entry with India. A large number of Nepali migrant workers have started returning after India started seeing a sudden spike in the cases of COVID-19.
