The transportation services came to a grinding halt since the government enforced nationwide lockdown on March 24.  Though the lockdown was lifted on July 21, the government had not allowed the long-route public transportation to resume operation.

“Public vehicles will be allowed to carry only 50% of the total capacity,” spokesperson Gyawali said, adding that they are allowed to charge additional 50 percent to the regular fare.

The passengers will be mandated to wear face masks, and the transport entrepreneurs are required to adopt the protocol set by the government.
