LSP's circular to protest against President Bhandari

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) executive committee has issued a circular to its subordinate committees to hold nationwide protests against President Bidya Devi Bhandari's refusal to certify the Citizenship Bill.

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) executive committee has issued a circular to its subordinate committees to hold nationwide protests against President Bidya Devi Bhandari's refusal to certify the Citizenship Bill.


LSP executive committee member Keshav Jha informed Republica that the party has started nationwide agitation since Wednesday against the President for not validating the Citizenship Bill. Earlier, LSP had announced that if the Citizenship Bill is not ratified by Sept 20th, it will hit the streets.

Meanwhile, Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) President Upendra Yadav has said that the President's failure to certify the Citizenship Bill is a blow to the democratic system. "The President's non-certification of the Citizenship Bill, which was passed twice by both houses of parliament, is a direct violation of the Constitution and an attack on the essence of the parliamentary democratic system," Yadav wrote on social media on Wednesday morning. The Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party has also demanded that President Bhandari resign from her post immediately.
