Lumbini Province: UML's Giri stakes claim to chief ministership

DANG, Jan 11: CPN-UML's Leela Giri has staked his claim to the chief ministership of Lumbini Province.

DANG, Jan 11: CPN-UML's Leela Giri has staked his claim to the chief ministership of Lumbini Province.


With the signatures of 55 members of the provincial assembly, Giri has presented his claim to the post of chief minister to Province Chief Amik Sherchan.

The total number of members in the Lumbini Province assembly is 87. Giri has submitted the signatures of 55 members, including 29 from UML, 10 from Maoist Center, four from Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), three from Janta Samajwadi Party (JSP), three from Janamat Party, four from Nagarik Unmukti  Party and 2 independent members .
