Madhav Nepal’s CPN (Unified Socialist) to join Deuba-led cabinet

KATHMANDU, August 26: Chairman of the newly-formed CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal has formally announced that his party will join the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.

KATHMANDU, August 26: Chairman of the newly-formed CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal has formally announced that his party will join the Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.


Addressing the first press conference organized a day after registering the party at the Election Commission (EC), Chairman Nepal said that they will soon be part of the Deuba-led government.

On the occasion, Nepal also said that they still believe in communist ideology and that they cannot give up the ideology even as they decided to form a new party. "We will not give up communism [ideology]. It is the only communist party that can address the people's concerns," he said.


Nepal also said that his party would make agriculture the foundation of Nepali national economy as Nepal is still an agrarian country. "We will certainly work toward making farmers the owners of land," he said.


He said that their party will work toward resolving the issue of landless people and provide education, health and employment opportunities to all people. He also announced plans to expedite realistic projects of physical infrastructures to bring about development in the country.
