Madhesh Province NC PP leader election to be held on Thursday

JANAKPUR, Dec 28: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding the party’s Parliamentary Party (PP) leader election to pick PP leader in Madhesh Provincial Assembly.

JANAKPUR, Dec 28: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding the party’s Parliamentary Party (PP) leader election to pick PP leader in Madhesh Provincial Assembly.


Chandra Shekhar Yadav, the coordinator of the election committee and the vice- chairman of the NC Madhesh Province Committee, said that the date of the election has been fixed on Thursday. According to him, the top leaders of the committee and the party tried to select the PP leader through consensus. But as there was no consensus, the PP leader will be decided through the election process.

On December 22, a three-member election committee was formed under the chairmanship of Yadav, who is Vice Chairman of the NC Provincial Committee. But the committee has fixed the election date after five days. There are mainly two aspirants in the leadership race of the party.


Ram Saroj Yadav, the outgoing Minister of Madhesh Province, and Krishna Yadav, President of Madhes Pradesh, are the main aspirants for the post of PP leader in Madhesh Province. 


Krishna Yadav was elected as the President of Madhesh Province from the 14th Congress of Nepali Congress. He defeated Ram Saroj Yadav in the election. Having previously competed for the chairmanship of Madhes province, they are again competing for the post of PP leader again.
