Elections being held today to pick Nepali Congress PP  leader in Madhesh

JANAKPURDHAM, Dec 29: The Nepali Congress is conducting elections today to elect the leader of its parliamentary party (PP) in Madhesh Province. Two people have registered their candidacies to become the PP leader of the party.

JANAKPURDHAM, Dec 29: The Nepali Congress is conducting elections today to elect the leader of its parliamentary party (PP) in Madhesh Province. Two people have registered their candidacies to become the PP leader of the party.


Nepali Congress Madhesh Province President Krishna Yadav and outgoing PP leader Ram Saroj Yadav have registered their candidatures in the election to be held at the party office in Janakpurdham.

The election committee said that the time for withdrawal of nominations is up to 3 o'clock. Nitesh Gupta, head of Madhesh campaign of Congress, said that if no one withdraws the nomination, voting will be held from 3 to 4 PM.


Both Krishna Prasad and Ram Saroj, who have submitted their candidatures, belong to the establishment faction of the party. With 22 provincial assembly members, Nepali Congress is the second largest party in Madhesh Province Assembly.
