CHITWAN, Oct 3: Folks of Madi Municipality in the southern part of Chitwan district observed Dashain festival in darkness due to disruption in electric power supply for the past five days.
The Municipality's power supply was severed on September 28 after a problem emerged in the underground electricity transmission line installed in the Chitwan National Park, according to the Nepal Electricity Authority, Bharatpur Distribution Centre.
Power supply disrupted for 15 days in western Myagdi
Such a line has been installed across seven kilo metre of area beneath the Park, according to Centre's engineer, Rajendra Poudel.
Poudel shared that a machine to detect the problem in the underground transmission line should be imported from India. "It may take a while to procure the machine and fix the problem and restore the power supply in Madi," he said.
There are more than 4,000 households' subscribing to the electricity facility from the Centre.
In lack of electricity, the telecommunications system here was also affected, according to Poudel.(RSS)
