TANAHUN, Feb 11: Officials of the Division Forest Office (DFO) on Monday recovered the dead body of a male leopard in a forest of Bhanu Municipality-4.
According to Kedar Baral, chief of the DFO, the leopard is around eight years old. The officials have not yet been able to find out the actual reason behind its death. "There is an injury on the neck of the leopard," said Baral. As the leopard has the marks of claws in its body, officials speculate that it might have died after a fight with another male leopard.

The DFO will also conduct its postmortem, as its death seems suspicious. As soon as police prepare the details, the DFO will send the skin of the leopard to the Armed Forest Guard Training Center, Tikauli.
On January 1, a man-eater leopard was found dead in a forest in Dordor of Bhanu-3. The same leopard had long been terrorizing the villagers of ward no 2, 3 and 4. It had not just attacked but killed some people in the villages.
