According to Bhandari, the man suddenly fainted earlier this morning after having his breakfast. "We did not take him to a hospital for treatment because his throat swab had already been collected," said Bhandari.

Earlier on Thursday, his swab specimen was collected and sent to the academy. The young man had returned home from India along with 35 other Nepali fellowmen 10 days ago. He was a cook at a hotel in the Indian State of Gujarat.

He arrived at the Rupaidiha border point between Nepal and India on May 23 and caught a bus to Tallodhungeswor area of Dailekh on May 24. Dullu Municipality placed him at a quarantine facility set up at the Nepal Electricity Authority building. Some 79 other persons are in the quarantine facility as of today.

The deceased is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
