Managing street vendors is not KMC’s job: Deputy Mayor Dangol

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Sunita Dangol, the deputy mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), has said that it is not the responsibility of the KMC to manage street vendors.

KATHMANDU, Sept 26: Sunita Dangol, the deputy mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC), has said that it is not the responsibility of the KMC to manage street vendors.


Speaking at a press conference held in Kathmandu on Monday, Deputy Mayor Dangol urged the federal government to make an immediate integrated policy for a sustainable solution to this problem.

She also clarified that since this problem is in all cities across the country, the federal government should not delay making the necessary integrated policy to provide a sustainable solution. 


Deputy Mayor Dangol also requested everyone not to put pressure on the KMC to solve the problem. She also said that KMC needs suggestions rather than pressure from anyone. Deputy Mayor Dangol said that KMC is proceeding according to its policies and programs.
